Every attendee received a Design Sprint Kit.

I attended the 2018 Google Developer Experts Summit which took place on the 10th and 11th of November. As a special bonus, I got an invite to attend the Google Sprint Master Academy.

A design sprint is a methodology for solving business problems using various team members over a number of days (frequently between three and five). During this time, the team rapidly progresses from the problem statement to a tested solution using a proven step-by-step approach.

A sprint is broken into five phases:

  1. Map
  2. Sketch
  3. Decide
  4. Prototype
  5. Test

The Sprint Master Academy is a one-day event during which the entire process is simulated. Teams are formed out of attendees, and Sprint Masters are allocated from a pool of mentors, who are certified Sprint Masters.

The essence of the academy is to provide Experts with the skills necessary for them to carry out design sprints in their communities. After attending the academy, participants have the opportunity to become certified by designing and completing a sprint within the stipulated timeframe.

If you would like an overview, check out this link. I am off to design and host a sprint.
